Interview Laury Milette
This year, you have sprinted for the victory against World Tour riders like Alison Jackson and Skylar Schneider. How did you experience 2025?
This season, you took part at your first elite Worldchampionship. How did it feel to be part of the winning team?
It was really special. Wearing the jersey of the national team among the elites is already an honour, but being part of the winning team made the experience still even more special. Magdeleine has been unbelievable.
A big part of the season, you're racing far from home, do you like it, or is it difficult?
A bit of both. I like to discover new cultures and race on a high level in Europe, but being far from home takes a lot of adaptation. After times, I have found myself an environment where I can feel like at home.
Can the cycling World support the North American cyclists better?
Yes, clearly. There is a lot of talent in North America, but the access to structures, to race and to international opportunities is more complex. More walkways, more visibility and support that makes a real difference
What are your ambitions in this sport?
Continue to make progress and sustainably reach the World Tour level, next to taking part at the biggest races like the Tour de France FemmesWhat are your goals for 2026?
2026 will be a year where I will have to perform. Building on what I've learned in 2025, improve consistency and aim for solid results in targeted races. I would like to take part at the Worlds in Montréal too.
What are your strenghts as a rider?
My being all round, my ability to read the race and being strong in a group. I love punchy races where you have to adapt quickly
What can we wsih you for the coming year?
Health, constency and opportunities to express myself fully in the race. And a bit of luck 🍀!
