Women's World Tour Teams preview
The new season is approaching and all rosters are (almost) complete. That makes this an ideal moment to look at the squads for the coming season in the Women's World tour. Many teams have remained more or less the same in terms of quality, but some teams have made some interesting transfers while others have even lost multiple key riders. Who are the winners & losers of the main transfer window and who will be the leaders or talents to watch in the coming season? In this overwiew you can find an alphabetical round-up of all WWT teams.
AG Insurance - Soudal
Not a lot of transfers at AG Insurance-Soudal. The team mostly keeps their strong core that they already had. Gaia Masetti leaves the team after a difficult season, while Letizia Borghesi is a strong new addition for the classics campaign. Her second place in Paris-Roubaix and sixth place in the Tour of Flanders show that she has a lot of potential. Kim Le Court will try to repeat her past miracle season and has again a strong squad to support her in that.
CANYON//SRAM Zondacrypto
Ricarda Bauernfeind's departure to Lidl-Trek is a bitter loss for the team. The German rider didn't have her best season last year, but her young age should still make her able to reach her old level again, or even improve. No riders of the same level will join the team. Kasia Niewiadoma & Chiara Consonni will be again the main leaders for the coming season. Zoe Bäckstedt & Antonia Niedermaier should be able to set another step forward.
EF Education-Oatly
A lot of new faces for the pink club. Auke De Buysser, Caoimhe O'Brien & Stine Kagevi bring a lot of talent into the team, while Alexis Magner brings in experience. Kristen Faulkner, Cedrine Kerbaol & Noemi Rüegg should be able to book the big results again for the team and take the pressure off from their new young team mates. A team that can grow throughout the season.
FDJ United-SUEZ
Fenix-Premier Tech
The team already attracted Charlotte Kool in the last months of the previous season. For this year, the departure of Pauliena Rooijakkers will hurt the team in the grand tours. Puck Pieterse will be the most valuable assest for the coming year again. The team can also hope for a big season of Yara Kastelijn & Christina Schweinberger. A team that can get far in many races if everyone reaches their best level, but that can also not sustain too many injuries.
Human Powered Health
Lidl-Trek
The team will lose a lot of experience by the retirements of Lizzie Deignan & Ellen van Dijk. The incoming transfers of Loes Adegeest & Ricarda Bauernfeind are valuable and should physically make the team stronger. The team did not necessarily need many new riders too. They have former Worldchampion Elisa Balsamo in their ranks and can rely on the further development of the Holmgren sisters, Fleur Moors, Gaia Realini and Shirin van Anrooij.
Liv AlUla Jayco
Mavi Garcia leaves the team after her suprisingly strong season for a golden contract at UAE. In return the team will try to be competitive again in the mountains with Nadia Gontova. The team still lacks riders to really be competitive for victories. Letizia Paternoster & Ruby Roseman-Gannon can get a close result on a good day, but they are no guarantees for victories. The young Ella Wyllie did well last season with a 12th place overall in the Tour de France but it wouldn't be fair to put all the pressure on her already.
Movistar
The team attracts Spain's new hope by signing junior Worldchampion Paula Ostiz. The team will lose valuable road captain Jelena Eric, but apart from that their squad will more or less be the same as in 2025. Marlen Reusser is the mature all round leader of the team. Cat Ferguson can discover her possibilities again in the classics & sprints. Puncheur Liane Lippert will reach her prime. Tota Magalhaes will probably color races with strong breakaways again. A team that can do well on every terrain.PicNic-PostNL
A lot of transfers at PicNic-PostNL. The departures of Nienke Vinke, Charlotte Kool, Megan Jastrab will hurt them on three terrains. The new recruits don't seem to be able to compensate that. Megan Arens has shown nice things in the junior category, but it would be absurd if an 18 years old would have to become one of the main pillars of the squad already. The team only got a license for one season, what indicates also a small financial margin to do long term transfers.
SD Worx-Protime
Visma-Lease a bike
UAE ADQ
Mavi Garcia is the most visibile new face at UAE ADQ for the coming season. Pauline Rooijakkers can score on a similar terrain. The team has stockpiled a lot of talent in the past few years, and unlike with the early mentioned Lidl-Trek they never really seemed to have a long term strategy with them. Most young riders have mainly hindered each other, so not many riders really have the big results to demand a big role behind main leaders Elisa Longo Borghini, Dominika Wlodarczyk & Silvia Persico.
