You won the UCI Track Champions League this Winter. What did this mean for you?

It means a lot. It was my second international competition. And the first competition with such a busy program. It was a huge experience for me as a young rider.

What are your ambitions in track cycling?

It’s easy. I’d like to ride faster. I’d like to improve in many components and beat my personal records. It’s the only way to success. Of course, the Olympics is my biggest dream, but I follow my dream step by step and… we will see. Right now I’m just a rider with a few good races on a high level of competitions.

Would you like to race more on the road too?

No. I'm a track cyclist. No ambitions in the road races.

You did ice skating before. How did you discover cycling?

Our family is connected to cycling – for example, my father and brother. When I finished my career in figure skating I had a short break before cycling. But I guess it was in my DNA)

What are your interests outside cycling?

I like to post something to my Telegram-channel (https://t.me/alinalysenko). And I’m doing mosaics.

There are a lot of examples which inspire me. But I follow my way.
